“Happiness is a slice of pizza.”
I’ve seen this recipe on several blogs over the past several years and I always thought it looked a little ‘wacky’ …. well, the grandkids are coming next month so it is time to ‘think out of the box’ and cook something wacky, or in this case, crazy!
I usually like to research the recipes I cook and this one really provided me with a surprise. I found it at RecipeCurio.com which reprints vintage recipes and they even published a photo of the original recipe which had been cut from a magazine or a Pillsbury Flour recipe pamphlet (I’ve posted the photo below). One person who posted a comment wrote that she was cooking this identical recipe back in 1969. Another individual commented that the same recipe, at one time, had been named “Pour-A-Pan-Pizza” … very interesting! Regardless, I suspect this will become our ‘go to’ pizza as it is much cheaper and faster to the table than commercial delivery pizza and, most importantly, it tastes better!
The variations and the possibilities with this pizza are endless. If your spouse doesn’t like the same toppings as you, then make two smaller pizzas at the same time in 8″ baking pans or cast iron skillets …. put your spouse’s toppings on one and your’s on the other. One way to consider what toppings to use is to go to Pillsbury.com and search on the word “pizza” … you will be presented with over 700 possible toppings variation and that includes photos.
