Flat Top Grilled Asparagus

Grilled asparagus is one of the easiest and best vegetables to grill and, it's even easier when you do it on a flat top griddle gas grill.

Could asparagus be the spring superfood you should eat more of? It is a bright green veggie packed with vitamins and minerals like vitamins A, C, E, K, and B6, as well as folate, iron, copper, calcium, protein, and fiber. These nutrients help asparagus offer serious health benefits.

Asparagus is a vegetable that is high in water content and contains many vitamins and minerals. These nutrients help you to burn more calories, which will help you to lose weight. Additionally, asparagus is a fiber-rich food that will keep you feeling full for extended periods.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to 400 degrees.  Clean the asparagus and trim off the bottom 1 1/2 inches on each spear.

  2. Place the asparagus spears in a deep plate.  Add the EVOO and toss the spears until well coated.  Sprinkle with garlic powder.

  3. Squirt or spray your oil of choice (I use avocado oil) onto the griddle and place the asparagus onto the oiled area.

  4. Cook about 3 to 4 minutes, flip with a spatula.  After about 3 to 4 minutes char marks begin to develop and it is time to remove the spears from the griddle.

  5. Place the grilled asparagus spears in a deep plate and sprinkle them with fresh grated Parmesan cheese and lemon pepper.  Serve and enjoy!
